                   Follow The Heart

          Kate and her brother Christopher whose family has gone bankrupt and its up to them to secure their family's financial problems they are too sail to England and stay with their uncle. During the preparation for the great ball Kate's cousin's feel sorry for her because her dresses are not in fashion and she's not the most beautiful girl. Everyone but the head gardener named Andrew, he sees more than just the outer beauty but he notices her inner beauty he sees the passion and grace in how she expresses herself. Andrew notices how her eyes brighten up every time she talks about her garden and the different types of plants he can see the joy it gives to talk about the beauty of nature.
                 Christopher slowly starts to take interest in his uncles governess while they stay at his house Christopher decides to look for a job instead of marrying for money   but that means that all the pressure of saving there family from poverty. When a rich man try's to help her and her family she is to marry him soon as possible but she finds out that she must marry a man who she does not love and love a man who she cannot marry.Will she choose to marry the man she loves or will she secure her family by marring a man who she doesn't love.

     This book tells us about the journey of Elizabeth Thatcher she has worked hard to become a teacher at Weston day school but when she is asked to give something up for the position of teacher in the famous school she honorably rejects and then is given a horrible position out west in a small town named Coal Valley. One night as she sneak's into her sisters room she finds her aunts diary as she reads she finds out her aunt was also a teacher out west. As she reads her story he sees how her aunt deals through her struggles living west Elizabeth realizes that it doesn't matter where you're at as long as your doing what you love and can help kids in upper class or lower class levels.


Elizabeth has finally made her decision as she get's on the train to head out west she learns that she is not going to be traveling alone but has the company of a constable who swears to protect her with his life. The ride to Coal Valley is a dangerous and bumpy ride on the way to the small town they get held up by some thieves they take mostly everything that she had. As they walk towards there destination she finds out that fancy boots are not made for walking for long periods she finally arrives and its nothing like she expected there is no actual school and their is much work to do.
